Great Midlands Fun Run Success for Sertec staff

We’d like to say huge congratulations to all of the Sertec team who took part in the Great Midlands Fun Run 2017.

This fantastic annual event involves an 8.5 mile run around Sutton Park and surrounding areas including the infamous ‘Cardiac Hill’. Many of our team took part, including our Group Commercial Director Ben Higgins.

Well done to all who took part, and we hope to see even more Sertec employees joining in next year.

Charity Golf Day helps raise £4000 for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust

We recently took part in a Charity Golf Day hosted by Grayson Thermal Systems; the day was a great success with an outstanding £4000 raised for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust.

The event took place at The Astbury Golf Club Bridgnorth with 10 companies playing on the day; we had four teams representing Sertec Group Holdings, all who played brilliantly for a great cause.

Sertec are Gold Members at the Made in the Midlands Expo

Sertec attended the Made in the Midlands Exhibition which highlights the strength and successes of the manufacturing sector within the Midlands and is an event we are proud to be a part of as Gold Members of this Manufacturing Alliance.

The expo took place at the Ricoh Arena where we were joined by over 2,000 decision makers from the Midlands Engineering & Manufacturing supply chain, OEM purchasing teams and 200 exhibiting Made in the Midlands members.

It featured some of the biggest names from the Automotive, Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Medical sectors, including: Jaguar Land Rover, Ricoh PLC, Mahle Powertrain, GKN, Gestamp, Autins Group, Cab Automotive and hundreds of others.

We had great day meeting many representatives from our supply chain, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to our exhibition team on the day.

JLR and NSPCC Drive 2017- £24,000 raised!

Pete Pugh, Group Quality and Projects Director, took part in the ‘JLR/NSPCC Drive 2017’ which was a great day which helped to raise over £24,000 for the NSPCC.

The event consisted of a 15 car convoy driving for 400 miles from the Coventry Transport Museum to Durham. This event, the JLR/NSPCC Drive, has raised more than £190,000 over the past few years for the children’s charity.

Our new Press Shop Video Case Study

On completion of the new Press Shop at our Coleshill factory in 2016, press manufacturer Zani Presse commissioned a video case study on the extensive project undertaken which was the installation of 12 brand new presses.

In addition to this, to get the presses up and running we employed Servopresses Srl to install 12 brand new coil lines as seen on the video case study completed by Servopresse Srl.

We invested £16 million on creating a dedicated stamping operation at our Gorsey Lane site in Coleshill.

Coleshill School Students find out more about Engineering!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming two groups of Year 10 students from Coleshill School. During their visit, we gave them the opportunity to learn more about Sertec and how to make the first steps into a career in Engineering via our Apprenticeships.

Our Apprenticeship schemes are very popular and offers hands-on experience alongside college-based learning. The four-year scheme will allow you to make a real difference to the continued success of the company and will provide you with opportunities to develop skills and have the best start to a career as an engineer.
