Our Sustainability Journey

Sustainability is also at the heart of our manufacturing processes and integrated at every stage across our sustainability journey.

Our partners choose us for our quality, accuracy, and guaranteed standards but we are also taking steps to make sustainability a core part of Sertec’s identity. We aim to secure a sustainable future for our customers, partners and industry innovators who will rely upon the responsible manufacturing processes that we provide to deliver the technologies of tomorrow.

Sertec is proud to play our part in the delivery of sustainable manufacturing and the global push towards responsible, low-carbon and zero-waste operations.

Sustainability Milestones

We always strive to go the extra mile when taking steps to improve the sustainability of our operations.

The measures we have put in place, and the milestones that we have already achieved in our sustainability journey so far, include:

The introduction of our long-term Sustainability Strategy will strengthen our sustainability efforts and guide our decisions.

As of 2025, we are committed to transitioning 80% of our fleet to electric or hybrid vehicles.

Our Scope 1 and 2 emissions calculations provide clarity over our emissions and inform our next steps.

We have launched a close-loop recycling program for various waste streams across our manufacturing processes.

This initiative promotes the reuse and remanufacturing of equipment across our operations to reduce waste.

We currently hold Bronze EcoVadis status and are actively working towards achieving Silver status.

Sertec Environmental Strategy

At Sertec, our sustainability journey is much more than a process; it is a way of thinking, and one that we promote across all levels of our business.

Employee engagement is central to our environmental strategy, as it is the awareness and innovation of our team that delivers on our sustainability goals. The importance of responsible, sustainable operations is embedded into our employee training framework and then emphasised throughout our career development model with ongoing awareness campaigns and internal training.

These programmes focus upon the importance of remaining responsive to new opportunities for operational improvements and being aware of regulatory changes that will require us to update our strategy. Our Sustainability Committee also meets monthly to review the success of our strategy and its ongoing implementation, and there is also the opportunity for members of team Sertec to expand their understanding of sustainable manufacturing with formal qualifications.

Sustainability in Manufacturing

To support our sustainability journey, Sertec holds an ISO 14001 accreditation - but our commitment to environmental responsibility goes far beyond certifications.

This certification is achieved through the implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) that reduce emissions, prevent excess waste, and minimise the environmental impact of our operations. This international standard not only verifies our sustainability efforts but also guides them, and our integrated EMS continue to shape our environmental strategy moving forward.

The data provided by these systems confirms the progress that our strategy is making and verifies that our operations align with our compliance obligations. The insights that our EMS provide also help our teams to adapt our processes as needed, both in line with new sustainability regulations and with new developments in sustainable manufacturing.
