Sertec’s story began in 1962 with a clear focus: to make things well, and to make them work. Founded by Harry Mosedale, a toolmaker by trade, Sertec started by supplying components and tooling to the growing manufacturing sector in the UK.
From there, we built a business known for its reliability, practical expertise and close partnerships. We grew by solving real problems, adapting to change, and staying committed to quality.
Today, Sertec operates across multiple sites in the UK, Hungary and China. We work with some of the world’s most advanced automotive and manufacturing businesses, and whilst the technologies have changed, the mindset hasn’t. We’re still a business that listens, responds and delivers.

Over the years, we’ve evolved by staying curious, working closely with customers, and applying our engineering knowledge and expertise where it matters.
Many of our customer relationships go back decades.
We’ve grown into new sectors by responding to real needs and developing the right solutions.
We maintain the Heart of a Midlands manufacturer, with the capabilities of a global supplier.
Many of our team members have been with us for decades. Their knowledge and commitment form the backbone of Sertec.
Sertec is focused on the future of manufacturing, but we approach it in a grounded, real-world way. That means investing in the right technologies, building the right partnerships, and helping our customers move forward with confidence.
Manufacturing is undergoing a transformation. The fourth industrial revolution, often called Industry 4.0, is reshaping how the world makes, moves and maintains things. It brings together digital systems, automation, data analytics and smart connectivity to create faster, safer, and more responsive production environments.
We’ve already embedded Industry 4.0 thinking into our engineering processes, using technology assisted inspection, robotics and real-time data capture to enhance precision, efficiency and speed. Our Smart Factory Award in 2024 recognised these steps, but more importantly, it showed what our teams are capable of when technology, teamwork and collaboration come together.
We’re not adding tech for the sake of it. We’re solving real problems for customers, like reducing waste, improving quality, and speeding up time-to-market.
As sectors evolve, so do we. Whether it’s electric vehicles, clean energy generation or battery technologies, we’re focused on building sustainable engineering solutions that align with future needs.
Industry 4.0 isn’t the destination. For us, it’s the next step in a journey that began over 60 years ago with smart thinking, skilled hands, and a commitment to building better solutions for the people and industries that rely on us. Our production facilities are becoming more resilient and adaptive through collaborative robotics, AI, and condition-based monitoring, empowering us to embrace the next phase of development – Industry 5.0.
Industry 5.0 is defined by its human-centric focus, and at Sertec, we are building a culture where innovation is inclusive, wellbeing is prioritised, and every team member is equipped to thrive in a digitally enabled, environmentally conscious future.
We’re proud of where we’ve come from but we’re even more focused on where we’re going. Our founder’s principles of trust, integrity and quality remain the foundations of how we operate today, and our story continues every time we help solve a new challenge, welcome a new apprentice, or support a customer into a new market.
