Advanced Level Maintenance Technician (Assembly)

Main Purpose of The Position:
Advanced Technicians have critical theoretical and technical knowledge to mentor and
coach others within the team. They are consultants within their specialism, providing
innovative improvements in complex and unpredictable situations.

Job Summary:
This is an ideal role for an experienced maintenance technician looking to progress into a
technical leadership position. The job combines hands-on maintenance expertise with
mentoring, coaching, project involvement, and continuous improvement activities to
improve reliability, safety, and performance across the Assembly operation.

Core Duties:
•Supervises others on breakdown activities
•Trains others in diagnostic investigation
•Support training of Planned Maintenance tasks
•Defining key critical spares (budget control)
•Helping others understand / challenging safe systems of work
•Improvement projects to drive sustained solutions
•Root Cause Analysis to successfully implement Permanent Corrective Actions
•Liaise and support engineering / Projects with the buy off process and new part
introduction, highlighting snagging and influencing improvement plans.

Min Requirement for Role Attainment:
•Advanced level technical qualification, e.g., City & Guilds level or equivalent
•Train the Trainer
•Demonstrable knowledge of problem-solving methodology
•Demonstrable cost saving mentality
•Demonstratable continuous improvement mentality in line with tooling, equipment, and
processes.
•Demonstration of advanced level equipment and process knowledge, i.e., Press setting,
Feeder setting, Profil, etc.
• Siemens S7 qualification or equivalent
• Fanuc/ABB qualification of equivalent
