Deep Drawn Ironing
DDI offers a method of cold forming cylindrical parts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The resulting product boasts closely controlled dimensions and a superb surface finish, further enhanced by the effect of cold work increasing tensile properties. Aluminium and it’s heat treated alloys can produce equally impressive results from this technique.
Cylindrical parts manufactured in this way are technically superior to the seamed and two or three piece construction methods. Sertec is widely experienced in this technique and produces quality cylindrical parts and associated assemblies.
