What is Plasma?

The CCT plasma system generates a finely focused beam of ionised gas which, with the benefit of maximised energy density levels and real time system monitoring, produces a sharply defined, fast, clean, square cut.

The system feeds from a constant current power supply with Mosfet inverter technology. This powers modular initiation and transfer circuits with control electronics, and advanced mass flow gas control systems.

Machine Features

Six Axis Robotics
The Speedcut 2000 system incorporates a state of the art six axis robotic manipulator, manufactured by Staubli. The working envelope falls within a hemisphere of 2000mm diameter by 800mm deep, within which the six axis control ensures smooth transitions between XY& Z.

Clearly this is more advantageous than many five axis gantry mounted systems which speed restrictions and accessibility problems in Z.

High accessibility tool holder accommodates awkward trim line conditions within rapid adjacent plane changes.

CCT has worked closely with the Staubli research and development team to develop and interface exacting “real time” software routines, with graphic trajectory tools to optimise system control and cut quality.

Spacious Working Envelope
Large working envelope falls within a hemisphere of 2000mm diameter by a depth of 800mm, allowing for anything up to large car and commercial truck panels to be cut.

Integrated Clamping System
Integrated pneumatic and vacuum clamping system secures the part to an inexpensive tubular steel jig, bespoke to each panel being cut.

Fume Extraction
Incorporated three zoned, programmable, down draught fume extraction chamber, to maintain a healthy working environment.

Power and Gas Control
Environmentally controlled cobinets provide safe and secure enclosures for:
- Constant current power supply
- Modular plasma initiation and transfer circuits
- Robot controller
- Dedicated PLS proximity scanner module
- Controls for integrated vacuum and pneumatic systems
- Closed loop cutting torch cooling system

Cutting Torch
Slim profile torch allows the cutting of small, tight angles on the most complicated of three dimensional parts. Interchangeable torch head, for ease of maintenance.

Proximity Scanners
Programmable proximity scanners on three sides create safety zones for flexible production requirements.
